Harbin is the capital of Heilongjiang province in northeast China and is served by Harbin Taiping International Airport. The city is well known for its ice sculpture displays in winter, but it is also well known for its Russian influenced architecture. The Russian influence can be seen in the Old Quarter with the famous St Sophia Cathedral which is now a museum and the main shopping area of Zhongyang Dajie. Sun Island is a popular place for locals to relax and the Dragon TV Tower offers superb panoramic views of the city.
